{"id":2024,"date":"2022-03-20T16:06:30","date_gmt":"2022-03-20T20:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rohs.ca\/news\/?p=2024"},"modified":"2022-03-20T16:06:30","modified_gmt":"2022-03-20T20:06:30","slug":"eu-ecodesign-requirements-for-off-standby-and-networked-standby-modes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rohs.ca\/news\/2022\/03\/20\/eu-ecodesign-requirements-for-off-standby-and-networked-standby-modes\/","title":{"rendered":"EU \u2013 Ecodesign Requirements for Off, Standby and Networked Standby Modes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission has proposed an ecodesign implementing measure that will impose requirements to implement low-power modes in many types of household and office equipment products that are not already covered by existing low-power mode regulations.\u00a0 Products will need to provide specific low-power features and meet a maximum power consumption when products are in a low-power mode.<\/p>\n<p>The list of products includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Many types of household and kitchen appliances;<\/li>\n<li>Information technology equipment intended primarily for use in the domestic environment, but not including computers and electronic displays that are already covered by their own ecodesign regulations;<\/li>\n<li>Consumer equipment, include audio\/video recording, playing and streaming equipment;<\/li>\n<li>Toys, leisure, and sports equipment;<\/li>\n<li>Adjustable furniture; and<\/li>\n<li>Motor-operated building elements (shutters, blinds, door, gates, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ecodesign requirements are specified in Annex II of the regulation.
