Then on March 11, 2020, it published \u201cA new Circular Economy Action Plan\u201d that covers the years 2020-2024. This new plan puts significant emphasis on the electronics industry and will undoubtedly lead to new regulations that impose sustainability requirements on electronic products.<\/p>\n<p>Key objectives of the action plan are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Economic growth that is decoupled from the use of resources<\/li>\n<li>Climate neutrality by 2050<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable products as the norm<\/li>\n<li>Linking industry strategy to circular business models<\/li>\n<li>Leadership to a global circular economy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The main initiatives that will impact EEE manufacturers are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Circular Electronics Initiative,<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable Product Policy Initiative and the<\/li>\n<li>Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Commission will be developing regulatory and non-regulatory instructions to implement these initiatives in the 2020-2024 timeframe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Commission recently published a report on the completion of it\u2019s 2015 Circular Economy Action Plan.
